Garcia likely out in Philly By Jason Cole, Yahoo! Sports February 25, 2007 The Philadelphia Eagles took another step toward parting company with backup quarterback Jeff Garcia when they re-signed third-stringer A.J. Feeley.
Feeley, who was picked up on waivers last season by Philadelphia, re-signed with the Eagles for three years. Feeley began his career with Philadelphia, was traded in 2004 to Miami, later was dealt to San Diego and cut by the Chargers after training camp last season.
All of that likely indicates that Garcia will be out. The Eagles have yet to make an offer to Garcia, who led them from a 5-6 record at one point to a playoff spot. Garcia played effectively after a season-ending injury to Eagles starter Donovan McNabb.
Agent Steve Baker declined to discuss Garcia's status other than to say that he expected something to be resolved quickly. The 37-year-old Garcia has said he would take less money to return to the Eagles.
