Police probe shooting at party hosted by Arrington, Peterson June 28, 2005 GAMBRILLS, Md. (AP) -- Police are investigating the shooting of a security guard at a pool party hosted by NFL linebackers LaVar Arrington and Julian Peterson. Investigators don't believe Arrington was near the spot where James Sidney was shot and injured, although the Washington Redskins player was present at the party, police spokesman Lt. Joseph Jordan said Tuesday. It was not clear whether Peterson was at the party Saturday night, Jordan said. No one has been charged in the shooting and there are no suspects, Jordan said. ``I had no involvement in the incident, and to my knowledge neither did any of the guests at the party,'' Arrington said in a statement. ``I feel terrible about the injury to the guard, who was only doing his job, and pray he recovers quickly and fully.'' James Sidney was shot when he intervened in a scuffle at the party, police said. He was flown to a hospital in Baltimore, where he was in serious but stable condition, Jordan said. A hospital spokeswoman said Sidney requested that no further information be released. Arrington and Peterson, who plays for San Francisco, hosted the party along with a company called True Playaz Entertainment at a 18,000-square foot mansion they rented, according to Jordan. An agent who represents Peterson did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Updated on Tuesday, Jun 28, 2005 4:28 pm EDT

Well surprise surprise - it's those Redskins dragging down the NFC East again! Here is a first-hand account of the "event" from someone who was allegedly there. (Got this from the EG board...)
Washington Redskin's Lavar Arrington and San Francisco 49rs Julian Peterson had their 5th Annual Charity Weekend this weekend in Washington DC/ Maryland.
Friday night was the Midnight boat ride on the Spirit of Washington. The music was Great!! Plenty of food, the bar was the WORST. The boat was pretty nice and stable we didn't have to hold on for dear life, you could actually dance and forget you were on a boat.
People in attendance you MAY know: Starr smile.gif , Lavar, Julian, Clinton Portis, boxer Sharmba Mitchell, Shawne Merriman and other football players. (sorry they wear helmuts so I don't know football faces well). Overall a jolly good time was had by all.
Saturday night is when things got crazy...
My friend's friend owns a mansion on Gambrills in Crofton, MD (it's brand new, he has a construction company and built it from the ground up) He's been renting it out for parties and videos.
Lavar and Julian had their *Invite Only* cookout/fight party/pool party there. The music was LIVE!! I believe there were 2 DJs (one in the house and out by the pool) There was also a live band. Food was catered by a caribbean restaurant and drinks were all free.
Now keep in mind this house is in the BACK woods. He's the only Black owner in the neighborhood and of course his neighbors be trippin'. In some ways I don't blame them. Some people don't know how to arrive and leave quietly. But once you're inside the gates the neighbors can't hear the party or the music. So in that regard I think they were full of shit when they called the police and said the music was keeping them up. (Saturday night about 12:30 am).
When the police arrived the security told everyone to go out on the back patios, there were two on the second floor and one in the pool area. Guys that were way too charged up on free alcohol started getting rowdy.
Lavar made an annoucement that the police were shutting down the party but people could go back in the house and chill he also said, if you are drunk don't leave, stay and sober up before trying to drive, especially with the police outside.
Mind you the cook out/pool party started at 3 or 4 O'clock so it's beyond me why anyone would be pissed about taking their asses home or to a club if they wanted to party more. The party was by invitation (no charge) so it's not like anyone got short changed. But some guy started throwing chairs over the second floor patio (I was downstairs by my car talking so I didn't see the commotion I just heard it.) Next thing I knew a crowd came down the lawn from the front of the house, there was a brawl. One of my friends told me to get outta my car NOW and go inside 'cause bullets have no name and I'm thinking she's over reacting, but she started getting really upset so I got out. I took about 20 steps toward the house heard POP POP!!
I grabbed one of my friend's hand and was like haulass.gif
We ran inside and luckily found an empty bathroom. Good thing 'cause I had to go potty anyway. We called the rest of our crew, they were in a closet in the pool room. CTFU.gif I was like ummm the doors are made of glass I hope you were hoping for protection.
After the police came around to the back and the paramedics arrived we went back outside. A security guard had gotten shot in the back. (HE'S OK THANK GOD!) He was in pain of course but he was talking. They wouldn't let anyone leave for quite a while. They did catch the guys as they tried to drive off, they still had the gun in their possesion.
They started letting cars leave again so I got in my car and headed for the gate, but when I was about 10 cars back, they stopped again, so the helicopter could pick up the injured security guard. We fell asleep in the car waiting. Woke up when we heard car doors slamming and left.
What really bothers me is that: #1 folks need to stop fighting over bullshit #2 folks need to know "when to say when" just 'cause it's free doesn't mean you have keep drinking. #3 guys need to stop being punks and pulling guns at the drop of a hat. #4 folks need to stop proving those people right who say we don't know how to act.
This was a beautiful place to party, swim and chill, not an every weekend thing but for special events and now he's not letting anyone else have parties there.

You are so not alone in that sentiment! Isn't it something how most of these athletes also happen to be gregarious and live such "entertaining" lives off the field? Then again, maybe you just don't hear about the ones who go to practice and just go home and fall asleep watching the NFL Network every night...

These days nothing surprises me anymore. Even the rumor that DMac was cheating on Roxi didnt surprise me though i dont believe it. it just goes to show that these athletes are human too and subject to the same behavior as the rest of us blue collar workers...........
