Eagles: Pinkston out for season with torn Achilles by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Friday, August 5, 2005
Eagles wide receiver Todd Pinkston ruptured his Achilles' tendon during Friday's morning practice and will miss the entire season. He will need to undergo surgery, and trainer Rick Burkholder told the team's official web site that the typical recovery time is six months. Greg Lewis replaced him in the lineup during the afternoon practice and will continue working as the starter, head coach Andy Reid explained.
Pinkston has never been much of a fantasy receiver, and this is a much bigger blow for the Eagles than it is for fantasy leagues. Lewis will move up the fantasy rankings, but he's not stepping into significant numbers. Rookie Reggie Brown and third-year man Billy McMullen also shift up the depth chart, and they will compete for the slot receiver job.
