Cowboys release WR Price December 3, 2005 DALLAS (Ticker) - Peerless once again is teamless.
The Dallas Cowboys on Saturday released wide receiver Peerless Price, who had just six catches for 96 yards this season.
It was the second time in just over three months that the 29-year-old has been released. On August 30, the Atlanta Falcons waived Price, who badly underachieved after being acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2003 season.
The Cowboys signed Price four days later, and he saw limited action behind starters Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson.
After catching 94 passes for 1,252 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bills in 2002, Price was traded to Atlanta for a 2003 first-round pick and subsequently signed to a seven-year, $37 million contract that included a $10 million bonus.
In two seasons with Atlanta, Price managed 109 catches for 1,413 yards and six touchdowns. Last year, he had just 45 catches for 575 yards - his lowest totals since his rookie season of 2000, when he started just four games.

no shock here. when he left buffalo to go play with Vick i knew that wouldnt work cause Vick isnt the greatest passing qb. So when he went to Dallas i said it wouldnt work cause they already have Meshawn and Terry Glenn. He needs to go to a team that doesnt have any receivers. Hmm, anyone have any ideas. Well how bout our Eagles? He would be better than anything we have now.

No, he wouldn't. He just isn't NFL quality.

I dont think he would work out on the Eagles either. He'd just be another 3rd 04 th receiver and we are already loaded up with them. In fact, our #1 Todd Pinkston is no more than a low #2 or high #3.

Hey, maybe the Falcons will want him back now that Dez White is out for the season.

Hey, maybe the Falcons will want him back now that Dez White is out for the season. Might be a wise move for them if they are gonna make a run at the post season. He already knows the offense, so thats a plus.

Yea knowing that i'm a Falcons fan I have always liked Price. It is just that the years he was here Vick didn;t throwthat much and noe he thorws more so he can get more involved in the game.

Vick will be a runner till he gets a real serious injury and then he'll adjust and pas more. That is, if the injury isnt career ending.

Kind of like Randall Cunningham.

yea, pretty much. Randall was fun to watch but enough with the running already. A QB shouldnt have to run more than 3-4 times per game.

Except when they play a team with a disciplined defense.

yea running only get you so far. You still gotta pass and if you down by a few TD';s with only a few minutes left running aint gonna win the game. They have Dunn and Duckett to run the ball, Vick should practice his passing more and become more efficient. Its almost impossible watching him play cause he gets confused easily, panics and then runs. I miss the old days watching Marino, Montana, Bradshaw and those other QB's picking defenses apart. Its a whole different game now.

Brady, Manning, Palmer, and Brees aren't too bad.

Brady, Manning, Palmer, and Brees aren't too bad. Yes those guys arent known as runners. Its refreshing. Not to bring up a race issue here but why is it that most of the African American QB's run and the Caucasions pass? Just a thought. Now that said there are alot of other African American Qb';s who dont run anymore than caucasions. Former QB Doug Williams comes to mind as well as some of the backups today like Jeff Blake and Charlie Batch. Neither of those were known as runners when they were starting.
